Lachrisa Grandberry Performs in Wisconsin Lutheran College Theatre Department's Bee-luther-hatchee

2013 Apr 23

Lachrisa Grandberry, of Milwaukee, WI, a junior at Wisconsin Lutheran College, is a member of the college's April theatrical production of Bee-luther-hatchee.

Bee-luther-hatchee, written by Thomas Gibbons, follows the journey of Shelita Burns, an African-American editor of books. When Bee-luther-hatchee, her autobiography of a reclusive 72-year old Southern black woman named Libby Price, wins an award, Burns decides to deliver the prize to Price in person. What follows is a journey of surprises, confrontations, and illuminations that challenge both Burns and the audience with issues of race, authorship, success, and the power of storytelling.

The Wisconsin Lutheran College Theatre Department's production of Bee-luther-hatchee is directed by Jay Sierszyn, associate professor of theatre.
