30th Anniversary Season at the Center for Arts and Performance

Wisconsin Lutheran College celebrates three decades of fine arts programming

Milwaukee, WI (08/10/2026) — Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) is proud to announce the 30th anniversary season of programming at the Center for Arts and Performance. The 2026-2027 season marks three decades of artistic excellence and Christian leadership.

"We are celebrating 30 years of presenting inspiring, high-quality arts in our community," said Loni Boyd, Director of Fine Arts Programming and Operations. "Each performance and exhibition is an opportunity to gather, reflect, and rejoice in the gift of creativity."

2026-2027 Season Highlights

Guest Artist Series

The 30th season features a diverse lineup of professional touring artists:

  • Heartland Marimba Quartet: Pop Inspiration (Oct. 24, 2026): A pop inspired program drawing from electronic music, video games, and jazz.
  • A Band Called Honalee (Nov. 21, 2026): A modern-day folk trio inspired by the legacy of Peter, Paul, and Mary.
  • Jimmy's Swingin' Jukebox Christmas (Dec. 12, 2026): The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra returns for a thrilling musical sleigh ride.
  • The Sound of Julie (Feb. 6, 2027): A national tribute celebrating the music of the iconic and beloved Dame Julie Andrews.
  • Rhinestone Cowgirls: Legendary Ladies of Country Music (March 21, 2027): A journey through the evolution of country music's greatest female vocalists.
  • Pianomania: Rockin' the 1950s with Jared Freiburg (April 24, 2027): A high-energy rock-and-roll rollercoaster ride.

WLC Theatre Department

Under the leadership of Prof. Simon Provan, the theatre season includes:

  • New York (Sept. 11-13, 2026): A poignant and humorous production observing the 25th anniversary of 9/11, in partnership with the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
  • Cinderella (Enchanted Edition) (Nov. 11-15, 2026): The timeless Rodgers & Hammerstein musical.
  • 10 Minute Original Play Showcase (Feb. 18-21, 2026): Original works created, performed, and directed by current students and alums.
  • Twelfth Night (April 15-18, 2027): Shakespeare's sparkling romantic adventure, celebrating love in all its confusion and wonder.

Music and Visual Arts

The season includes performances by the Wisconsin Lutheran Choir, Concert Band, and the Philomusica String Quartet (Quartet-in-Residence). Additionally, the Schlueter Art Gallery will host exhibitions throughout the year, with regular hours and no admission charge.

Tickets are available online at wlc.edu/boxoffice or by calling the Box Office at 414.443.8802. Season packages are available, offering a 10% discount for the full Guest Artist or Philomusica series.
