Sand County Reflections Art Exhibition at Wisconsin Lutheran College

Art Displays Inspiration from Aldo Leopold

Milwaukee, WI (02/11/2020) — Milwaukee, WI - Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) is featuring Sandy County Reflections, an art exhibition from Friday, February 21 to Saturday, April 4, 2020, at the Schlueter Art Gallery, located in the Center for Arts and Performance on the campus of Wisconsin Lutheran College (8815 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee).

This exhibition features the work of guest artists who were inspired by Aldo Leopold's classic text, A Sand County Almanac. The book was selected as Wisconsin Lutheran College's 2019-2020 Campus Read. The exhibit is one of several campus events planned that will highlight the thoughts and perspective of this renowned Wisconsin author, ecologist, philosopher, and conservationist.

Art exhibitions are scheduled throughout the year in the Schlueter Art Gallery on the upper floor of the Center for the Arts and Performance. Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. There is no admission charge for the gallery and works are frequently offered for sale. A gallery talk, hosted by Kristin Gjerdset, professor of art at Wisconsin Lutheran College, will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 3:30 pm, regarding her art and the exhibit. "Faith, Nature and Thoughts on Leopold." This talk is open to the public.
