Wisconsin Lutheran College Partners with Marquette University Law School for Accelerated 3+3 Program

Milwaukee, WI (05/03/2017) — Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) and Marquette University Law School (Marquette) have announced an accelerated program that allows students to obtain a bachelor's degree from WLC and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Marquette in only six years.

"Marquette University Law School welcomes the opportunity to partner with Wisconsin Lutheran College on this program," said Joseph D. Kearney, Dean of Marquette University Law School. "Students in this program will benefit economically by spending one less year in higher education and beginning their careers a year earlier, having received an outstanding, full legal education that positions them for professional and personal success. Through this program, we look forward to welcoming more Wisconsin Lutheran College graduates to our law school."

Students enrolled in Wisconsin Lutheran College's pre-law program may take classes for three years at WLC, and, having satisfactorily met the requirements for admission to Marquette University Law School, take an additional three years of classes at Marquette, graduating with both a bachelor's degree in a major field of study from WLC and a Juris Doctor degree from Marquette.

"WLC is honored to be able to collaborate with Marquette University Law School by establishing a 3+3 Pre-Law Program," stated Dr. Jason Badura, Assistant Professor of Humanities at Wisconsin Lutheran College. "WLC pre-law students who participate in the 3+3 program will be provided an excellent Christian, liberal arts-oriented education during their three years of undergraduate study. The academic and co-curricular opportunities these students will experience at WLC will in turn provide them a solid foundation to successfully complete their legal education at Marquette Law School and eventually in their professional legal vocation. We look forward at WLC to working with our colleagues at Marquette in this endeavor."
