Each Monday throughout the academic year, a Wisconsin Lutheran College student-athlete is acknowledged for his or her accomplishments from the previous week. Warrior of the Week is meant to acknowledge a student's dedication to excellence in their given sport as well as inside the classroom.

On May 6, 2020, Wisconsin Lutheran College hosted a virtual celebration to present its 2020 Impact Awards. Each spring, graduating seniors, faculty, and staff nominate junior and senior students for the WLC Impact Award. Finalists are selected by a committee. This award is a recognition of an individual's positive impact and Christian servant leadership within the WLC community. WLC senior Hailey Charlson, an art and psychology major from Rogers, Minnesota, is the 28th recipient of the college's Impact Award. Hailey is a graduate of West Lutheran High School. When she was nominated for the award, here is how Hailey was described: "Involved as a Resident Assistant. Volunteer. Advocate. Approachable. Kind. Encourager. Friend. Determined. Unwavering faith. Promotes spiritual growth. She modeled Christian love and positivity in the wake of a classmate's death last yearHailey is selfless and devoted to serving others in any way possible." Wisconsin Lutheran College congratulates Hailey, all the 2020 Impact Award nominees, and other students recognized at the celebration.

On May 7, 2020, Wisconsin Lutheran College hosted a virtual Honors Convocation during which scholarships and special awards were presented to current students who distinguish themselves through their academic and leadership accomplishments. Wisconsin Lutheran College congratulates all the award recipients for the valuable contributions they have made to the WLC community and offers thanks to the donors for the impact their scholarship makes on the students of WLC.

Wisconsin Lutheran College sophomore Alex VanCrete, from Green Lake, WI, received 2019-2020 Honorable Mention recognition from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). He was second on the Warriors with 10.8 points per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the floor. The guard/forward surpassed double-figure scoring in 15 games, including a career-high 19 points. VanCrete averaged 5.1 rebounds per game and recorded a pair of double-doubles. This is the first postseason award of VanCrete's career. The Warriors concluded their 2019-2020 season with a 19-7 overall record along with a program-best 16-4 mark in the NACC to claim their first conference championship since 2002. VanCrete is a graduate of Green Lake High School.

Wisconsin Lutheran College senior Andrew Bruggink, from Brookfield, WI, has been named the 2019-2020 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Player of the Year and First Team All-NACC. As a junior, he received NACC Honorable Mention. Bruggink, the NACC's leading scorer at 24.2 points per game, played an integral part as the Warriors collected a share of their first league title in nearly two decades. He led the NACC in field goals (219), free throws (134), and minutes per game (35.5). An all-around player, Bruggink's scoring prowess was on display all season as he registered double figures in every game and scored 30 or more points on six occasions. He also averaged 6.7 boards per game to rank sixth among NACC players while dishing out 3.1 assists and finished the year with three double-doubles. A four-time NACC Student-Athlete of the Week, Bruggink became the 22nd member of the Warriors' 1,000-point club. He is WLC's first NACC Men's Basketball Player of the Year and first for the program since 2002. The Warriors concluded their 2019-2020 season with a 19-7 overall record along with a program-best 16-4 mark in the NACC to claim their first conference championship since 2002. Bruggink is a graduate of Brookfield Central High School.

Wisconsin Lutheran College junior Amanda Brug, from Sturtevant, WI, received Second Team All-NACC honors from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), it was announced Tuesday by the league office. She averaged 12.0 points per game, led the team and was fourth in the NACC with a 50 percent field goal clip. The junior center pulled down a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game and led Wisconsin Lutheran with 21 blocks. Brug scored in double figures 20 times, including a career-best 23 points in a game this season. The 25-game starter recorded a pair of double-doubles. Wisconsin Lutheran College made its 14th straight NACC Tournament appearance and finished 19-8 overall and 15-5 in conference play. Brug is a graduate of Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers, WI.

Wisconsin Lutheran College sophomore Jenna Mace, from Wisconsin Dells, WI, was named First Team All-NACC by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, it was announced Tuesday by the league office. She led the Warriors by averaging 13.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. The sophomore guard finished fifth in the NACC in three-point shooting, connecting on a 38.9 percent clip from beyond the arc. Starting all 27 games, Mace reached double-figure scoring in 20 games, including a career-high 25 points. She also posted her first career double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds this season. Wisconsin Lutheran College made its 14th straight NACC Tournament appearance and finished 19-8 overall and 15-5 in conference play. Mace is a graduate of Wisconsin Dells High School.

Wisconsin Lutheran College senior Kelly Tramburg, from Fall River, WI, has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Defensive Player of the Year, it was announced Tuesday by the conference office. She also was named First Team All-NACC after averaging 12.0 points per game and shooting 42.7 percent from the field. The senior guard/forward was third in the conference in three-point and free throw percentage, shooting 39.4 percent from deep and 77.6 percent from the charity stripe. Tramburg reached double-digit scoring in 15 of the 24 games she started, including tying a career-high 21 points. She also pulled down 4.8 rebounds and dished out 2.7 assists per game, both second-best marks on the team. Tramburg is the third player in program history to earn NACC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Wisconsin Lutheran College made its 14th straight NACC Tournament appearance and finished 19-8 overall and 15-5 in conference play. Tramburg is a graduate of Fall River High School.

On Thursday, December 12, 2019, Wisconsin Lutheran College held its winter commencement exercises in the Recreation Complex - Time of Grace Center. At the service, WLC awarded diplomas to 50 traditional undergraduate students, adult accelerated degree program students, and graduate students. Prof. Deborrah C. Uecker, professor of communication at WLC, gave the ceremony's keynote address. Prof. Uecker started WLC's theatre program and communication major. She has served as chair of the School of Professional Communication and as a member of most faculty committees. Her service beyond WLC includes serving on the board for the Christ in Media Institute and as chair of several interest groups and executive committees in regional and national communication associations. Prof. Uecker plans to retire from WLC following the Spring 2020 semester. WLC alumnus Scott Warras '03 welcomed graduates to the ranks of WLC alumni. Warras is an on-air personality at WTMJ Radio in Milwaukee and handles radio play-by-play duties for the UW-Milwaukee Panthers. Wisconsin Lutheran College prepares its graduates to be Christian servant leaders in the workplace and in the community.

Wisconsin Lutheran College is pleased to announce Andrew Bruggink, a senior, from Brookfield, WI, was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the week for January 27-February 2, 2020, as selected by the league's sports information directors. This is the second straight conference weekly award for the Warriors' senior guard and the fourth this season. Bruggink is an alumnus from Brookfield Central High School.

The Glass Menagerie, a popular American classic by Tennessee Williams, follows Tom's memory back to his days in a St. Louis tenement apartment with his domineering mother, Amanda; shy sister, Laura; and her one-time gentleman caller, Jim. Williams' first play, which launched his remarkable career, has been read by millions and produced by perhaps thousands - including numerous film and television/video versions. That it continues to resonate with audiences is a testament to its greatness and place of honor in American Theatre. The production will be held from February 7-15, 2020, in the Raabe Theatre in the Center for Arts and Performance located on the Wisconsin Lutheran College campus, 8815 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee. Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on February 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15; and at 2:30 p.m. on February 9.
